Pre-purchase inspection reports
Pre-purchase Inspection Reports are specifically designed to provide you with as much relevant detail and information about your choice of vessel, before you commit to purchase.
Regardless of whether you are purchasing a brand new boat or second hand vessel, defects can exist and sometimes may not become apparent until it’s too late. Once you own it there will be only one person who will care, and it won’t be the seller.
Our pre-purchase inspection reports cover the following key points (subject to instructions, accessibility and time restraints):
- External hull surfaces above and below the water
- Propulsion equipment
- Through hull fittings above and below the wate
- Sacrificial anodes
- Steering equipment
- Mast, spars and rigging at deck level
- Non-skid deck surfaces
- Safety rails, stairs, ladders and handrails
- Windscreens, windows and sun covers
- Installed equipment, anchors, winches and cleats
- Safety equipment, fire fighting equipment, bilge pumps and life jackets
- Plumbing systems, fuel systems, waste management systems and hot water
- Cooking and air conditioning systems and more
The modern marine vessel is a very complex matrix of high-tech integrated systems including masts, sails and rigging, electronics, navigation, roll stabilisers, bow and stern thrusters, air conditioning, communications, steering, propulsion equipment, plumbing, electrical and security.
We do not claim to be technical experts in all of these systems as some other marine surveyors claim. Instead, we provide you with the option to engage the services of other specialist/expert, accredited people and technicians (at additional cost) when required ensuring you are getting the best advice regarding the installed equipment.
